Artists

Through the last 5 years of eclectic releases and impassioned live performances, The Slingers have cemented themselves as one of the most unique bands of the contemporary Australian underground/alternative scene. Their releases range in style from rock and roll to electronic, and from Australiana folk to the country pastiche of Kind Hearts, a collaboration with Melbourne underground legend, Spike Fuck. In 2021, the band were included in Beat Magazine’s ‘20 Underground Melbourne Bands You Ought to Know’.

Since signing to iconic Australian label, Flightless Records, in 2020, the band has made a foray into the universe of ‘Motel Pop’. The genre is less defined by production than by its lyrical content, chronicling with a blend of comedy and tragedy the lives of ordinary people struggling through our current age of loneliness.

The evolution of ‘Motel Pop’ culminated in their debut LP, Sentimentalism, released in July 2023. The album peaked at #4 on the ARIA’s charts for Top Aus Albums and #5 for Top Vinyl Albums. Off the back of this success, The Slingers completed a sold-out tour of Australia’s East Coast – including multiple shows at BigSound in Brisbane, and sold out shows in Sydney and Melbourne’s iconic Corner Hotel.

On the cards for 2024 is the release of a single and their sophomore album, as well as further touring around Australia and the UK/EU. The band were recently added to the line-up for Golden Plains Festival 2024.

The Slingers are a Melbourne band that deserve plenty of attention. With a hook-driven country pop that’s filled with nostalgia, The Slingers trade timeless tales of the past with cunning observations of today’s bizarre world  – Beat Magazine

Join the 12-piece musical family, FOOLS - one Australia’s leading forces in the contemporary roots genre, infused with soul, Americana, and rock. Led by the voice and songwriting of Luke O’Connor, FOOLS' rise to prominence has been marked by electrifying performances across the country, a nomination for Best Live Blues and Roots Act at the 2023 National Live Music Awards, and big love for debut album 'Can't Wait Any Longer'.

During her time in the music industry, Madi has supported many well known Artists such as Uncle Archie Roach, Alice Skye, Isaiah Firebrace, Melody Moko, Kutcha Edwards and Darlinghurst.

2023 was a huge year for Madi, a highlight being the recipient of the NIMA’S (National Indigenous Music Awards) Uncle Archie Roach Foundation Award. Madi Continues to hold a strong connection to her Community, Country, as well as all of the organisations and people she has connected with throughout her journey as an artist. Melbourne’s rock princess Terra Rouge is a young female musician

emerging from Australian’s underground scene. Her music combines gritty

guitar, punchy vocals, and immersive melodies to create an energetic and

grungy sound. Playing since she was young and writing since her very

early teens, Brianna Brady has been performing as Terra Rouge since

2019, supported by her backing band. The five young girls started out as

high school friends and are now playing weekly gigs and sold out shows

across Melbourne. Most recently, Terra Rouge released her debut album

“So Fucking Over It” and went on her first ever Australian tour, hitting

Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Adelaide and Melbourne. With more music

to come this year, she is definitely an up and coming artist to keep your

eye on.

After taking time out to record a new album, the Dandenong Ranges own Half Cut Hicks are back on stage whipping up a wild batch of all-original tunes.

Throwing banjo, mandolin, trombone, ukulele, guitar, Sidchrome, tenor, bass, and drums into the mix, it’s always hard to put your finger on Half Cut Hicks.

Words thrown around include Rum Barrel Blues, Trash Grass & Hillbilly Punk.

Whatever you call it, it’s an alt-country explosion of fun that makes you tap, stomp and dance! When the Hicks hit the stage, it's a full-throttle, high-energy spectacle, unleashing a burst of sonic mayhem with a stick-it-up 'em attitude.
