VIA VIC - September Edition

Five new Capital-B Bangers added to our VIA VIC playlist

By Always Live

Spring is surprising in Victoria. Rain, hail and sunshine in the space of an hour; the weather is always keeping us on our toes. One thing that does stay consistent is the endless stream of amazing music pouring down on us from all around the state. We’ve selected five of our faves for September!

Baker Boy “King”

The King returns! Baker Boy’s glorious new single ‘King’, performed in Yolngu, English, and for the first time, Buraurra—his mother’s native language, is a celebration of his incredible accomplishments as a musician. The best part? He’s only just getting started.

Angie McMahon – ‘Beginner’

Pulled from her new EP Light Sides is Angie McMahon’s gorgeous ‘Beginner’, a slow burn, breathy reminder of the multitudes we all contain. The track is a punch in the gut and a kiss on the cheek; a cosmic tribute to the fragility of the human condition.

Peach Fuzz – ‘Monster In My Room’

Naarm sweeties Peach Fuzz return with ‘Monster In My Room’. Laid back, acoustic guitar strums, vocal harmonies and lyrical hooks aplenty, this one will be stuck in your head for days.

Terra Rouge – ‘Couch Song’

‘Couch Song’ is the sonic equivalent of a middle finger in the air. Urgent guitars and rolling drums frame Brianna Brady’s biting lyrics and make for a moreish slice of rock’n’roll glory.

Kitschen Boy – ‘On Notice’

Echoes of the 80’s shimmer on recent heart break anthem ‘On Notice’ from Narrm’s Kitschen Boy. Blending their signature jangly indie pop with atmospheric synths perfectly juxtaposes the lyrical lamentations of a relationship that almost made it.

Make sure you check out the complete VIA VIC playlist below and have a listen to just a selection of some of the amazing tracks coming from Victorian artists.
